About Swiiiing
The idea for Swiiiing was born one mid-2009 day out of frustration over the absence of any existing swinger-finding website that functioned even half-way decently and didn't look like it was built 10 years ago by a 13 year-old (or by somebody's grandma).
"Just because we might be considered dirty and sleazy doesn't mean we prefer our websites that way," says Jared, Swiiiing's 28 year-old Northern California-born founder and creator. "And that only awful ones are available only reinforces and perpetuates the [inaccurate] stereotype that swinging is for old, out-of-touch, gross people!
"It's the result of a constant cycle of self-selection, where those with higher standards sign up less than those with lower standards, and this continues until you end up with a fairly unbalanced, bottom-heavy sampling of the swinger-seeking or swinger-curious population... which everyone then sees and tells their friends, of course, and the cycle is further reaffirmed and continued."
While Swiiiing is happy to host open-minded folks of all shapes, ages, and sizes, its founder does hope to attract an entire wave of young, attractive people previously too scared away to join any site. "There are an unspeakable number of young, sexy people out there who only meet others through clubs, social circles, or Craigslist," Jared says. "The idea is just to help shift the internet's makeup back toward a sexier, more representative sampling of lifestyle folks that are truly out there." And in this scenario, everyone wins: more/better selection for those already online, and the leverage in using the internet's grand scale (typically a few orders of magnitude greater than one's social circle) for those just deciding to give online a chance.
Not to mention, "You guys... we deserve better! We really do. I mean, here we are, progressive forward-thinkers with a heightened appreciation of life's greatest pleasures and the boldness to defy a society that would have us deny it all and lie to ourselves and our loved ones for the rest of our lives instead... at the very least, we deserve a website that doesn't make us look desperate!"
And so there you have it. Swinging 2.0... or is it 3.0? Whichever. Let the modern era of non-monogamous love and lust begin!
